Alcudia Old Town

Holidays to Majorca should include visiting the older towns scattered throughout the island and Alcudia's Old Town is no exception. Comprised of narrow cobbled streets within a 14th century wall, the Old Town offers an alternative to the beaches and nightlife with plenty of cafes and restaurants where you can sit and watch the world go by. There is no need to worry about car hire in Alcudia for the Old Town is easy to navigate by foot and there is plenty to see including an old Roman theatre, bridge, museum and bull ring.

Puerto Alcudia

Puerto Alcudia resort is a popular family holiday destination. Lining the northern part of Alcudia Bay, the resort of Puerto De Alcudia contains a long beach that is regarded as the best on Majorca island and one of the finest in the whole Mediterranean. The water is warm and shallow making it a popular choice with young families. The port and marina are situated here are where you can find ferries operating between Majorca, Menorca and Barcelona.

Playa de Muro Beach

To the south of Alcudia Bay is Playa de Muro Beach. Stretching for over five miles, this attractive beach is in a protected area lined with small dunes. With beaches like Paya de Muro, it is no wonder why Alcudia holidays continue to be extremely popular. The beach offers a variety of activities including water sports, windsurfing and paragliding. Family holidays to Alcudia based on the beach will not be disappointed by this holiday hotspot.

C'an Picafort

Once a fishing village the resort of C'an Picafort is now thriving. Lying in the centre of the Bay of Alcudia, C'an Picafort beach stretches west to Alcudia and beyond. The attractive port has its own marina, pedestrianised walkway and bicycle path that runs along the side of the beach. The resort is popular with European tourists and has all the usual amenities such as pedalo hire and windsurfing. The resort has the biggest go karting track in Majorca, suitable for all ages and is in close proximity to the S'Albufera nature reserve. There are a couple of local festivals that take place for a week in August when the resort comes alive with fireworks and street celebrations. It is recommended to invest in car hire in Majorca as there is so much to see across the island.
