Alcudia
Alcudia Weather
Similar to much of Southern Spain, Alcudia has a warm climate all year round. However it is during the summer months that the vast majority of tourists choose to visit. Hot dry summers and mild winters are the norm in Alcudia, with temperatures in August reaching 33°C. Even during winter the temperature rarely drops below 15°C.
Alcudia's Tourist Season
In the summer months the temperature in Alcudia soars. This is the most popular time for Europeans tourists to descend. We wouldn't recommend arriving in Alcudia without already having a hotel booked during these busy summer months - as finding somewhere to stay will be tricky.
The quieter winter months are still mild, and if you want to come explore Alcudia's Old Town and history January and February are when you are likely to find the best prices on holidays to Alcudia. There's more of an atmosphere in the autumn and spring though, when temperatures are still high and the resorts are a bit busier.
Events in Alcudia
Fiestas (parties) are common across all of Spain and Alcudia is no exception. If you want to time your trip to coincide with one you'll find there are plenty of folk and religious celebrations throughout the year to choose from. Christmas and Easter are both big celebrations and national holidays in Spain.
One fiesta specific to Alcudia is on the 17th January - the festival of the patron saint of animals, Sant Antoni Abat. This is celebrated by lighting fires, followed with a parade of local residents and their pets. It ends with the blessing of the animals outside the local church. At the end of June the patron saint of sailors, Saint Peter is celebrated and numerous decorated boats carry a statue of the saint around the bay. At the end of July there is a week-long fiesta celebrating Alcudia's own patron saint, Saint James. You'll be able to join in with lots of events, music, dancing and religious celebrations during this week.
