Algarve Weather
The climate in the Algarve means you're practically guaranteed sunshine throughout the summer, with hardly any rainfall from April to October. Summer temperatures are upwards of 25°C practically every day and with the sea temperature of around 22°C it's easy to see why this region is so popular. In the winter the weather is still relatively mild, with daytime temperatures of about 16°C and freezing weather virtually unheard of.
The Algarve's Tourist Season
The Algarve's tourist season runs from April to October, and beaches and resorts can become packed especially at the height of the season. Package deals and cheap flights mean that you can get a great deal all year round. If you want to escape the crowds, head further west where there are still plenty of quieter places to go, or if you want a mix of sun and sightseeing then the low-season could be perfect. The warm temperatures will still allow you to sit outside at cafes and the tourists will be few and far between, meaning peace and quiet and excellent deals on accommodation. Surfers and windsurfers can take advantage of the great conditions and enjoy the Algarve all year round.
