Antigua is reported to be the sunniest of the Eastern Caribbean islands with a pleasant tropical climate all year round. The majority of months are warm and dry with sunshine for approximately nine hours per day.
There is low humidity all year and little seasonal variation in temperature. The weather is perfect for those looking for a beach holiday during the UK's winter months. Warm waters provide the perfect place for watersports, diving and, of course, lazing on the beach. Whilst the frequent romantic evening sunsets make Antigua and Barbuda a popular destination for couples and honeymooners.
Antigua and Barbuda's so-called rainy season begins in May and ends in October, although rain is not guaranteed as Antigua is in fact drier than most Caribbean islands. Antigua and Barbuda may experience hurricanes and tropical storms during the months of July to October.

With average temperatures of 28°C and little seasonal variation, Antigua and Barbuda are popular destinations during the British winter. November onwards is usually the most expensive time to travel however you may be able to find cheap package holiday deals at the last minute. Events in Antigua and Barbuda
Sailing Week is a significant event in the calendar for both islands. It is one of the top sailing regattas in the world, full of racing events and social activities to match. There are plenty of events all year round based around sailing, so if you are interested check out the tourist departments website for more information. Antigua also hosts an annual carnival - a 10-day-long festival that involves the whole island. Processions, steel bands, calypso, food fairs and beauty pageants line the streets during this time of non-stop partying.
Cricket is Antigua's main sport and there are frequent matches both formal and informal all over the island. Matches are accompanied by calypso music and a great atmosphere.
