Mosquitoes can be a nuisance so come prepared with some repellent and ensure you apply it as the sun goes down.

Safety:

It is wise to be assertive and keep an eye on your valuables, especially if out late at night. If you hire a car, make sure it is locked and keep valuables out of sight. There is a concern about the level of drug use in Barbados and it is highly advised not to engage in any conversation with anyone you suspect of being a dealer. Also take care when swimming in the sea. Some of the beaches have deceivingly strong currents. Make sure you look out for warning signs when swimming.
