The start of a new year always has us planning and scheming for new trips and new places to visit. We took a quick poll of the office to see which new locations are on the agenda for the dealcheckers in 2012.
Italy – We’re just about going to let Andy get away with his choice of Italy. He has visited the country before on a ski trip, but 2012 is the year he plans to visit at sea level with trips to Venice, the Amalfi coast (and possibly Rome) planned.
Hungary – Proving their party loving reputation three of the dealchecker girls are venturing into the unknown lands (for them) purely in the cause of drinking, dancing and having a darned good time. Zoé is headed for Hungary’s Sziget festival, held on an island on the Danube.
Croatia – Eve has been eyeing up Croatia’s Garden Festival for the past three years, and 2012 is the year she’s determined to make it happen. The Festival has a new location of its own – moving to a private bay on the Adriatic coastline.
Brazil – Anna rounds up our trio of revellers, with her intention to visit the party to end all parties: the Rio carnival. Better get booking fast!
Poland and Ukraine – Spot the football fan in the office! Would it be unfair to suggest that Bogdan’s new destinations are motivated more from a desire to watch the Euro 2012 Football Championship than to explore a new part of the world? Meh. Still counts.
London’s Olympic Site – Continuing the sports theme, Em has forsaken a holiday this year in favour of staying put in London to soak up all the Olympic excitement. She says her new destination is the Olympic site during the games, even though she didn’t manage to get her hands on a ticket!
Weymouth – OK Olympic fever has officially hit the dealcheckers as MD Mark claims the place he’s most looking forward to visiting this year is Weymouth, where he plans to catch the Olympic sailing.
Thailand – Adeola is in the mood for something different in 2012, and Thailand’s exotic temples, white beaches and adventurous foods (deep-fried grasshopper anyone?) promise exactly that!
Serbia – I’ve read many good things about Belgrade, the Serbian capital – enough to make me want to see it for myself. It’s got plenty of history, a pretty riverside setting… Oh, and it’s consistently rated as one of the top European cities for nightlife.
