Travel to Bodrum
There a lots of airlines that offer flights to Bodrum Airport (Milas-Bodrum Airport) so you?ll always be able to find one nearby, and the competition means that there are often great flight deals available outside peak travelling times. Flying time from the UK is about four hours so you can leave in the morning and be sunbathing by the afternoon.
On Arrival in Bodrum
There is a shuttle bus running from Bodrum Airport to several big resorts and hotels in Bodrum. If you don't fancy waiting the taxis are very reasonably priced if you can share as they charge a fixed fare of £40 for the journey. You can also pick up car hire at Bodrum Airport which will allow you greater freedom to explore the surrounding area, especially if you would rather not join any organised tours.
Getting Around Bodrum
The best way to get around Bodrum is by Dolmus, the local taxi-style buses. These follow fixed routes normally advertised on the front, and if you see one you can hail it wherever you are and it will drop you off when you want. Alternatives are to use a taxi if you are pressed for time or to hire a car if you know that you want to make some longer journeys or go further afield.
Travelling further afield
To travel to other places around Turkey the easy way, use the intercity coaches like the locals. These are very reasonably priced but remember to take food and drink supplies! The Greek islands of Rhodes and Kos are also within easy reach throughout the summer with a daily ferryboat leaving the harbour. Organise car rental in Bodrum or take a tour to visit some of the attractions across Turkey such as Pamukkale and Epheseus.
