Bristol airport offers domestic and international flights to over 90 destinations. It opened in 1930 after a group of local businessmen bought some land and started an airport.
Bristol has one terminal and one runway. You'll find the check-in desks and arrivals gate on the ground floor.
The Bristol International Flyer runs between Bristol's train station (Temple Meads), bus station and Bristol International Airport. You can get a train easily from London (Paddington Station) or Cardiff to central Bristol or a National Express coach from all over the UK to Bristol Bus Station. You can also get a taxi or drive yourself and park.
There are a couple of shops before security control but most are after it. You'll find WH Smith, Street Surf & Sand and Superdrug amongst others. The restaurants, bars and cafes are normally open for all flights and include Burger King, Starbucks and Caviar House.
At Bristol Airport you can exchange money, send letters, get tourism advice and play in the games zone.
The Cabot Lounge is open to passengers over the age of 12, it has business facilities and complimentary drinks. Alternatively, the BA executive Lounge is open to specific card holders (contact BA to see if you qualify) and they offer drinks, snacks and business facilities. If you frequently fly from Bristol you can get extra benefits by joining the Navigator Scheme.
Avis Europcar, Hertz and National are all based at Bristol airport and can be booked at the airport or before you fly by doing a search for cheap Bristol car hire. There is a pick-up point beside the terminal where you can park if you are popping in to meet someone. The short stay car park is five minutes (or via courtesy coach) from the terminal and doesn't need to be pre-booked. Long stay car parking should be pre-booked and is accessible via a courtesy coach.
Or you can make life easy by using the business car park which sits beside the terminal and starts from £15 for a day. Alternatively, staying at an airport hotel the night before can be a good way to get cheap car parking.
There are no hotels onsite but locally you will find Days Inn and Town & Country Lodge.
