If you do decide to hire a car during your holiday in Burlington it'll allow you the freedom to explore the city and its surrounding areas at your own pace and is handy given there's not much public transport in the city. If you don't, you can walk around most parts of the downtown area with ease and make use of taxis or the limited local bus service.
The city plays host to a number of very popular festivals throughout the year so if you are planning a holiday in Burlington it's a good idea to make sure you book your accommodation up as far in advance as possible. Hotels prices in Burlington can rise during certain festivals, so if you're on a budget you may want to avoid these peak periods.
