Town Centre
posted by rberkheimer I think most tourists just rush off to a resort on the coast and don't dive it another thought but the town of Dalaman is a great place to stop into. Tea gardens, cool buildings and some lovely markets are just waiting! Sarsala Cove
posted by yelder Not too far from Dalaman this is a really pretty area with a beach and a forest so it's easy to find shelter from the strong Turkish sun, important for an easily-burnt frazzle like me! Sarigerme Beach
posted by rwise You have to get out of Dalaman and we went here, this lovely beach, not too far away. It's such a stunning part of the world here and we loved the peace and quiet. Blue Cruise
posted by dnewman This is the colloquial name for taking a boat trip along this stunning coastline and I'm a fan! We took the Twelve Islands cruise and the scenery is just spectacular and we were even lucky enough to get off the boat and spend a couple of hours snorkelling too. Kapda Peninsula
posted by lwise Before we flew back to the UK we just had time to stop off at the Kapda Peninsula and i'm really glad we did. We got to go to the ruins of Lydia and Lissia but sadly ran out of time for Kyra. Great places, and the mystery surrounding them is that nobody knows when they date from. |
Dalaman is both a district and pleasant Mediterranean Turkish farming town close to the south-western coastal highway. The town is located just over three miles from Dalaman airport which serves the popular tourist resorts of Dalyan, Fethiye, Kalkan and of course Marmaris. Dalaman holidays offer tourists large peaceful beaches, warm sea and guaranteed sunshine in an area of great natural beauty with views to the mountains and the sea. Airport busses travel to many destinations but car hire from Dalaman airport is easy to arrange and offers tourists much greater independence and flexibility to enjoy the beauty of this scenic area. In addition cheap Dalaman car hire is probably necessary to make the best of the many traditional Turkish restaurants, bazaars and markets which are open till late in the evening. Dalaman hotels offer a commendably wide range of facilities and deals from basic self catering to the most luxurious of all inclusive packages. Many tourists consider that car hire in Dalaman is vital because there is so much to see spread over a large area. If you can drag yourself away from the beautiful beaches it has the most diverse flora and fauna in Turkey and a visit the romantic ancient tombs is a must.Hiring a car in Dalaman
