Glasgow's city centre is compact and most hotels are located centrally, so if you?re staying in the city it's not essential to organise care hire. Glasgow does have good driving conditions though and finding a park is fairly easy. If you're looking to get further afield, expect it to take about one hour to Edinburgh, four hours to Manchester and seven hours to London. Shopping is big in Glasgow and you'll find everything from markets to high-end boutiques. It's also worth strolling around the University of Glasgow campus (est. 1451) which is one of the oldest in the UK and has a magnificent gothic style. From there it's an easy walk to The Botanic Gardens.
