It's the most iconic Roman structure in the world and you can't miss it, despite the crowds. I can't believe loads of the stone was used elsewhere, and how enormous and imposing it must have been for those poor gladiators who fought there.

What a square! You climb up (a lot of) steps not quite knowing what you'll find and then there you are, surrounded by some fantastic buildings in an amazing hilltop square. Beautiful.

What amazing shopping! This whole long road is just a shopper's paradise and don't forget to turn into the streets near the spanish steps for some high end stores plus wonderful shoe shops. Take the credit card!

You can't go to Rome and not see these Museums, they are the most phenomenal place i've ever been. So much to see, the tapestries, the library, the Borgia Apartments, and of course the Raphael Rooms featuring the Sistine Chapel. Well worth quite a hefty queue, would advise going early.
