Travel Tips for San Francisco |

California's Great America
posted by ksayre Voted San Francisco's best theme park this really is aweseomely fun with stuff to do for old and young. There's comedy, scary rides, kids areas, a water park and rides everyone can enjoy together (ok, probably not teenagers). Buffalo Paddock
posted by lhouston Surprisingly you won't find any buffalo here, but you will see bison! What a splendid sight when you come across them in Golden Gate Park! Barbary Coast Trail
posted by xqueer Such a great introduction to the city! I downloaded the audio book before we left and then we followed the trail, plus a few extra stops at places that caught our eye on the way. Free and fun! Asian Art Museum
posted by dloewentsein I totally never expected to visit the largest asian art museum in the west! Wow, what an amazing place, so much to see and you really feel like you are immersed in the cultures. Gilroy Gardens Theme Park
posted by hashbaugh What a place! A great family day-out, the kids just loved all the unusual stuff like the spinning vegetables. At only 80 miles to drive it's better value and more fun that going to Alton Towers or similar places. Rides and fun places to explore abound, with more emphasis on enjoyment than fear. |
The city by the bay is more famous for its cable cars than its private modes of transport but cheap San Francisco car hire is the only way to see sights such as the Golden Gate Bridge or to trip across to Oakland and take in a very different side of west coast culture. On holidays to San Francisco many people arrive by plane so it makes sense to pick up your car hire from San Francisco Airport. There are many different firms available so like most of America's international airports you should find an appropriate deal to suit your needs. Many of the cheap San Francisco hotels have car parks so you'll easily be accommodated if you're travelling with a car. The waterfront is the place to be if you want to see the best of San Francisco, with the piers stretching out into the bay and offering retail outlets and restaurants serving chowder in bread bowls. Many take trips around the bay or over to Alcatraz by boat and with San Francisco car hire you can visit the Haight-Ashbury district to see where the hippy movement of the 1960s found its home.Hiring A Car In San Francisco
