Thailand's capital Bangkok provides visitors with the most fantastic assault on the senses and even the most seasoned traveller will find plenty of surprises and discoveries.
In 2006 Suvarnabhumi Airport opened and all International flights arrive here. Flight time from the UK is 12 hours. The airport is situated 30km from the centre of Bangkok and you can either take a bus or a taxi. Metered taxis will charge about 400baht and the journey will take about 60 minutes. The bus charges 150baht and journey time will be between 60 & 90 minutes.
A new high speed train link is due to open in August 2009 which will whisk passengers to downtown Bangkok in about 15 minutes.
