Cape Town is situated in the most beautiful of locations, being surrounded by Table Mountain and both the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, combining to give the most stunning of backdrops.
There are not currently any direct flights from Manchester to Cape Town and passengers will have to change flights, most likely at London Heathrow. Flight time from London to Cape Town is 12 hours.
Cape Town is going to be one of the host cities for the 2010 FIFA World Cup and because of this there is a great deal of upgrading taking place at the airport, both in terms of improving transport links into the city centre and the terminal buildings themselves. The work is due to be finished by May 2010.
The summer months, December to April, are usually hot and dry. It doesn't usually feel too uncomfortable as the humidity is low. The winter months tend to be quite wet but temperatures don't often dip below 10C. Spring and autumn are probably the best times to visit.
