Despite its volcanic origins Lanzarote does not lack in the beach department, in fact, far from it. The island is dotted with beautiful white and golden sandy beaches to rival any in the world. Papagayo in the south near Playa Blanca in particular is renowned as one of the finest, although beware if you are a sensitive soul, it's very popular with naturists.
