Darwin, in Australia's Northern Territory, is somewhere worth visiting if you like sunshine beaches and lively nightlife. There is no Summer or Winter, due to Darwin's tropical climate, although the area does have a wet and a dry season; the main dry season being May to October which is the busiest tourist season. You can explore Darwin easily on foot. There are local markets at Parap, Nightcliff and Mindii Beach and restaurants which offer some of the local delicacies like buffalo, crocodile, kangaroo and mud crabs. You can be entertained by performers and there are plenty of arts and crafts outlets which demonstrate the Aborigine heritage. Mitchell Street, the main street in Darwin springs to life at night and there are many pubs and clubs. Stroll Cullen Bay Marina and take in the atmosphere around the harbour, or hit the Skycity Casino, or you can simply head for the Ski or Sailing Club and watch the sunset.
