Menorca is a very popular holiday destination, particularly with the Brits. It has a small native population and it is not as overcrowded as some of its neighbours which means the hotels in Menorca are pleasant to stay in, even during peak season.

Flights To Menorca

Travellers should expect to spend around two and a quarter hours on a flight to Menorca as their holiday commences. Mahon Airport accepts Menorca flights from many destinations, and cheap flights to Menorca are operated by numerous budget airlines. The airport is 2.8 miles from the city of Mahon so onward travel should be brief if you are staying locally.

It's useful to seek car hire from Menorca Airport as this will provide you with the perfect platform for travel around the island. Driving is the easiest way to get around, although there are also buses and taxis for any visitor thinking of roaming freely after Menorca flights land.

What To See In Menorca

If you don't mind making the journey to the summit, there are unparalleled views from the top of Monte Toro, which is officially the highest point on Menorca. The Museu de Menorca will provide you with all the details of the island's history and it is set within a 600 year old monastery with artefacts which date back further still. The plaza of Alfons III is the home of many popular restaurants and even has a windmill which has been converted into the tourist information headquarters.
