Some of the oldest religious objects in Europe can be found at the Jewish Museum in Prague. The reason for this is because Adolph Hitler planned to build a museum in Prague that would be "a museum of an extinct race." You can see many of these artifacts in this museum. This is a museum f ... more

dealchecker's guide to Prague

Prague has become one of the most popular city break destinations from the UK in recent years and the capital of the Czech Republic is served by many airlines offering cheap flights. Prague is much more than just a stag and hen venue (although it does offer plenty of opportunity for those kind of trips) with some amazing architecture, excellent shopping and of course plenty of entertainment options.

Getting there
A flight to Prague takes about 2 and a half hours from the UK and there are options from many departure airports outside London such as Manchester, East Midlands, Liverpool, Edinburgh and more. The route is served mostly by scheduled airlines such as British Airways and no frills carriers like Easyjet. The price of your Prague flights could be as little as £40 per person if you pick the right bargain but unless you get lucky it's perhaps more reasonable to be looking for the price to come in at around the £100 mark. If you are staying close the centre you'll find the city easy to walk around, but if you are opting for a cheaper hotel further out it may be worth hiring a car.

When to go
Prague has a typical central European climate which can get pretty hot (30 degrees plus) in the summer and very cold (well below freezing) in the winter. The best times to snap up some cheap flights to Prague for a city break are therefore autumn and spring when you can avoid the extremes of the weather. Prague flights are, however, likely to be at their cheapest in November, December and January when the low cost airlines offer some incredibly good deals but if you are planning your holiday to Prague for the cold winter months make sure that you pack your woolies!

What to do
Prepare to be overwhelmed by the architecture in this beautiful city with many hundreds of spires reaching into the sky from well preserved buildings in the historical centre. The best way to enjoy them is to go on a walking tour either organised or just off the cuff. Charles Bridge (built in 1357) is one of the picture postcard sights not to be missed along with a huge number of palaces, churches and chapels. Prague's markets are famous, particularly for Christmas shopping and if you fancy just watching the world go by there are numerous cafes and bars just waiting to take your order.

Regardless of exactly what it is that you want to do dealchecker.co.uk will help you find that elusive cheap flight to Prague. What's more if you need a hotel why not use our search to scour the market for cheap hotels in Prague?
