Holy Infant of Prague
posted by cdrennan A delight to see this famous statue in its home at the Church of Our Lady Victorious. Charles Bridge
posted by gmary This was my second trip to Prague and we decided to get up at dawn and go for a look around before all the other tourists got up, and we were handsomely rewarded. Beautiful to see the city without the tourist throng, particularly Charles Bridge, whose charm at that hours was unmatched. Wallenstein Gardens
posted by kbraun These stunning gardens seemed mostly ihabited by locals on their lunch break when we went here to rest our bones and enjoy a bit of the sunshine. Peacocks, fountains and one wall that overlooks an owl sanctuary, it's a crazy world but one well worth seeking out. Rowing boat hire
posted by wmurray A bit terrifying but also really awesome, we took ourselves on a boat tour under our own steam and really enjoyed seeing the sights from the river. Great! Bertramka
posted by kgottwine Gorgeous villa and gardens with plenty of Mozart-related interest. Perfect for a quiet stroll and a trip to their courtyard cafe. |
Prague is one of the top city break destinations from the UK and the capital of the Czech Republic. The city is served by many airlines offering cheap flights to Prague. Prague is so much more than a venue for stag and hen nights (although it does offer lots of variety for those that are on that kind of trip) with some fantastic architecture, excellent shopping and of course a huge amount of entertainment options. Getting there When to go What to do Regardless of exactly what it is that you want to do dealchecker.co.uk will help you find that elusive cheap flight to Prague. What's more if you need a hotel why not use our search to scour the market for cheap hotels in Prague? Or try this link for Prague Old Town Apartments.
A cheap flight to Prague Airport takes around 2 and a half hours from the UK and there are a number of options from many departure airports outside London such as Manchester, East Midlands, Liverpool, Edinburgh and more. The route is served mostly by scheduled airlines such as British Airways and no frills carriers like Easyjet. The price of your Prague flights could be as cheap as £40 per person if you find the right deal but unless you get lucky it's perhaps more reasonable to be looking for the price to come in at around the £100 mark. If you are staying close the centre you'll find the city easy to walk around, but if you are opting for a cheaper hotel further out it may be worth picking up cheap Prague car hire.
Prague has a typical central European climate which tends to get quite hot (30 degrees plus) in the summer and very cold (well below freezing) in the winter. The best times to snap up some cheap flights to Prague for a city break are therefore autumn and spring when you can avoid the extremes of the weather. Prague flights are, however, likely to be at their cheapest in November, December and January when the low cost airlines offer some incredibly good deals but if you are planning your holiday in Prague for the cold winter months make sure that you pack your woolies!
Prepare to be overwhelmed by the architecture in this beautiful city with many hundreds of spires reaching into the sky from well preserved buildings in the historical centre. The best way to enjoy them is to go on a walking tour either organised or just off the cuff. Charles Bridge (built in 1357) is one of the picture postcard sights not to be missed along with a huge number of palaces, churches and chapels. Prague's markets are famous, particularly for Christmas shopping and if you fancy just watching the world go by there are numerous cafes and bars just waiting to take your order.
