Getting to Seoul
Domestic air travel is provided by Korean Air and the Asiana Airlines service, which connects Seoul with other major cities in South Korea. Seoul flights from other countries usually arrive into Incheon International Airport, with cheap flights to Seoul available if you book well in advance and travel with a relatively cheap airline. There are plenty of hotels in Seoul to choose from too, if you book in advance.
Gyeongbokgung Palace
Built in 1395 by the founder of the Joseon Dynasty, Lee Seong-Gye, the Gyeongbokgung Palace is the jewel of Seoul's 5 historic palaces. The Palace now contains the National Museum of Korea as well as Royal apartments and state rooms, elegant ponds and gardens for all to see. The palace today is still in the process of being restored back to its original state.
Namsan Park
The park is located on the summit of Mount Namsan, which is situated in the centre of Seoul and is a popular feature of the city. Once you get to the summit via a cable car and stairway, there are several attractions for you to enjoy, including the Botanical gardens, fountains, Maritime Aquarium and the Seoul Tower, which rises 480m and offers a fantastic view of the city. The restaurant on top of the tower offers a breathtaking view of Seoul at night.
Lotte World
The park is divided into an inside 'Adventure Land' section that covers acres of streets that represent different countries and are filled with many different activities, plus the outdoor 'Magic Island' that has a fairy-tale castle and offers thrilling rides and pleasant walks around a lake.
Alternatively why not hire a car in Seoul and get out of the city.
