There are many cheap flights to East Timor with the majority of them landing in the capital city's airport of Dili. As you cannot fly directly to East Timor from the Uk the majority of cheap East Timor flights will make a stopover either in Bali, only two hours from East Timor, or Darwin which is a one and half hour flight from East Timor. Cheap East Timor flights will therefore mean that you have an overall travelling time of between 30 and 32 hours, depending on where you stop over.
Getting Around East Timor
The easiest way to get from the main city of Dili to any of the other islands in East Timor is to take a ferry and these run regularly. When you are getting around Dili and the surrounding area you can rent a car or motorcycle, but remember that the quality of the roads is not great and you will need to watch for animals and children in them.
