Although you can't fly direct from Glasgow to India, there are several indirect services to destinations all over the country that you can catch. British Airways, Emirates and KLM all offer one-stop services to Delhi and Mumbai that change in either Dubai or mainland Europe, with quickest routes taking around 12 hours.

If you'd rather avoid plane changes, or you simply can't find a Glasgow route to fit your schedule, there are direct UK flights to India. Air India, British Airways and Virgin Atlantic all fly direct to both Mumbai and Delhi from Heathrow, whereas Monarch, flythomascook and Thomson Flights run direct services to Goa from Gatwick and Manchester.
When planning your holiday in India make sure you book airfares as far in advance as possible to avoid having to pay over the odds for your flight to India (the longer you leave it, the more likely prices with increase).
It's also worth bearing in mind that train travel in India is very affordable, so if you can bag a bargain flight to say Mumbai but your final destination is elsewhere this is worth exploring. Just be warned that India is huge country, and train journeys can be very long!
