The quickest route from the UK to New Zealand is to fly from Heathrow with Malaysia Airlines, stopping once in Kuala Lumpur. This will have you touching down on the other side of the world in less than 24 hours, which could be the perfect route it you want to keep travel times to a minimum.

Getting Cheap Flights to New Zealand

The optimum time for holidaying in New Zealand, particularly if you want to keep airfares down, is during the late-February to late-March period. This falls just after the high-summer tourist rush, but still boasts warm temperatures and the lower demand for flights drives prices down. You even have the luxury of the lush autumn foliage in Christchurch and Queenstown. Just make sure you book ASAP to ensure you grab the best prices while they last.

If Auckland, or say Christchurch, aren't your final destination, you may find it cheaper to fly to either and then make use of long distance buses to complete your journey or book a cheap domestic flight yourself. While indirect flights may be available, they can be very costly.
