In the last decade the number of eateries and bars has exploded and there is plenty to do once you escape the plush Zurich hotels. It takes roughly an hour and three quarters for a flight to Zurich to arrive from London, with cheap flights to Zurich Airport departing from many major destinations across Europe. The airport is less than 15 minutes drive away from the centre of the city, traffic permitting, which means Zurich flights need not be followed by any kind of protracted onward journey. Zurich car hire is a great way to get your holiday freedom, with big name brands operating from the airport, although on-street parking in the city is expensive and an hour limit is imposed on most meters. Parking garages will help out in this area, or you can ditch the wheels and try getting around on the integrated transport provided by the trains, buses and trams. Away from the financial district, the Kunsthaus Art Gallery allows Zurich to show its creative side, whilst wandering along the edge of Lake Zurich and taking a drink or two at one of the waterfront bars or cafes is a relaxing activity.
