Asheville feels like a scaled down San Francisco minus the waterfront (and the chilling fog) set against the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.

Downtown: Great Food Picks:

Carribean/Southwest/Mex-Try Salsa's near Pack Square around the corner from the Noodle Shop below.

Vegetarian:The Laughing Seed Cafe on Wall Street

Chinese:The Noodle Shop (the appetizers - ginger carrots,potatoes and spring rolls) are worth the stop for a quick bite. Also on Pack Square.

Bookstore: Malaprops (just ask everyone knows where it is downtown)

Desert:The Chocolate Fetish. If you think you know what chocolate is based on Hershey's this will be a turning point in your life- recommendation: Dark Chocolate Truffles.

This is a great city to spend some time in.
