Majorca is the most popular destination in the Balearics, a group of islands lying just off the east coast of mainland Spain. The island's capital city, Palma de Mallorca, is also on the coast, close to a range of beaches but boasts plenty of old colonial architecture and great shopping if you fancy a few hours away from sunning yourself.
