Travel Tips for Lanzarote

 Playa Quemada

Such a cute tiny little chocolate box of a village and the most amazing black sandy beach i've ever seen! Wow.

 Guinate Tropical Park

What a lovely place! Perfect for treating the kids there is so much to see and do here, but make sure you pack lunch if you want to save a bit of cash. The underwater penguin viewing area was the biggest hit of the day with my little ones.

Museum of Canarian Emigrants at Santa Barbara

I'd never known a place advertise so much that its citizens were fond of emigrating! But this is a great little place, really interesting, and you get great views over Teguise too!

 Wine Museum

The best kind of museum is one where wine tasting is included in the price, in my opinion! I loved seeing all the quaint old tools, but the best bit was the wine!!

Museum of International and Contemporary Art

What a wonderful place, the castle has been beautifully transformed into a museum, with a great litte collection of art. It's a lovely spot to eat at too, with great views over Arreceife

dealchecker's guide to Lanzarote

Lanzarote is the most easterly of the Canary Islands and is renowned for its stunning volcanic landscape. Culturally it's one of the more regimented of the islands with very strict controls on building and development which means that it's not necessarily the archetypal destination for a Canaries holiday, Lanzarote is certainly not as brash as its island neighbours.

There are a lot of options for a cheap holiday in Lanzarote, but you can also put your own package together by searching for a cheap flight deal and then finding your ideal hotel.

When to go to Lanzarote
Just like the rest of the archipelago this island has the perfect warm climate for beach holidays, Lanzarote is most definitely a fantastic winter sun destination too with average year round temperatures ranging from 21C to 29C. It's situated a four hour flight from the UK, just off the coast of northwest Africa so offers a long haul climate without the need for a lengthy flight.

What to see in Lazarote
The island's major natural attractions are a host of volcanic land formations left over by countless eruptions. The Timanfaya National Park is a must see exhibit for any holiday in Lanzarote, although you are not allowed to wander 'freestyle' there are plenty of ways to see the wonders of this landscape, including on camel-back! A stop at El Diablo, the restaurant with a barbeque fired by the very heat of the volcano, is a particular highlight.

Beaches in Lanzarote
Those looking for superb beaches will not be disappointed on a Lanzarote holiday. Despite its black rock landscape, Lanzarote is home to some superb sandy beaches such as Papagayo in the south near Playa Blanca, Playa Grande in Puerto del Carmen and the surfing beaches in the west of the island, Famara and La Santa. Hiring a car will let you explore more than one of these stunning beaches.

Entertainment
So what of the nightlife? Lanzarote holidays are not as famous for their neon lit party nights as those in Tenerife, however, the Brit popular resort of Puerto del Carmen does do a pretty good line in every non Spanish form of evening entertainment you can think of. For those in search of something a little more in keeping with the local population, the northern resort of Arrecife offers Spanish entertainment and is the more likely hangout for the locals.

Whatever it is that you are looking dealchecker can help you compare Lanzarote deals across the market with one simple search.
