Despite its black rock landscape, Lanzarote is home to some superb sandy beaches such as Papagayo in the south near Playa Blanca, Playa Grande in Puerto del Carmen and the surfing beaches in the west of the island, Famara and La Santa. Entertainment
So what of the nightlife? Lanzarote holidays are not as famous for their neon lit party nights as those in Tenerife, however, the Brit popular resort of Puerto del Carmen does do a pretty good line in every non Spanish form of evening entertainment you can think of. For those in search of something a little more in keeping with the local population, the northern resort of Arrecife offers Spanish entertainment and is the more likely hangout for the locals.
