One of the most popular summer holiday locations among UK travellers, there is much more to Mallorca than just beautiful beaches and delicious food, scratch beneath the surface and you find a wealth of local culture and activities to keep even the most restless holidaymakers happy.
The east coast of the island boasts some of the most beautiful golden beaches in the Mediterranean, particularly those around Calas de Mallorca and Cala Antena. The Sierra de Tramuntana has some wonderful hiking and bike trails for the active holidaymaker, while there are wonderful bars and restaurants serving unique local favourites in every town and village. There are also 18 golf courses on the island, if you fancy a few holes between sunbathing and feasting. There is something for everyone on a holiday in Mallorca.
There are direct UK flights to Mallorca throughout the year, from as far north as Aberdeen and as far south as Exeter, with numerous others in between. Ryanair, flythomascook., Monarch and Thomson all run services, so there is plenty of choice when navigating your way to Mallorca. Flights in the peak summer months of July and August are by far the most expensive, in some cases ten times more costly than off-peak times. As a result, if you want the perfect balance of weather and cost, then going either between May and June or during September is the answer, as the temperatures can still reach the high 20s, and there are still plenty of cheap flights to Palma.
