Alvor is an excellent base for families and there is plenty to keep the kids occupied. Zoomarine sealife park and Lagos zoo are both less than half an hour away by car. Although a holiday to the Algarve is not particularly cheap Alvor car hire is still a smart choice for getting around and seeing the true beauty of the area at a leisurely pace, even if it does mean a bit more on your budget.
