Blantyre is the business centre of the country and the biggest city in Malawi. Located in the south of the country it is rivaled only by Lilongwe in importance. The city is surrounded by hills and beautiful mountains, the first layer of an echo of hills that stretch to the Kirk Range, the Zomba Plateau and Mount Rushmore. Blantyre's hills all have something special to offer. Blantyre has much to offer. There are some interesting sights to visit, such as Blantyre Mission, the church of St Michaels and All Angels, the Mandala House, and the March 3 House of former president Dr Banda. There are a few good restaurants to check out and it is a good place to start some interesting daytrips.
