Summer is the most popular time for tourists with beaches to lie on, shops open late to wander around and a variety of events, exhibitions and performances during the Dubrovnik Summer Festival. Later in the year, autumn sees a slightly milder, but no less sunny climate and again tends to be a little quieter, although there are still plenty of things to see and do. Winter is very much quieter - many attractions have either limited hours or are closed, this can include shops and restaurants too.
