Edmonton, the capital city of Alberta, Canada, is the northern most city in the whole of North America. Many choose to take holidays to Edmonton, most notably because of the glorious North Saskatchewen River Valley Park system, which comes replete with some 100 kilometres of fun trails, wildlife and panoramic views. There are many available hotels in Edmonton and choosing one will depend on which area you decide to stay in. Probably the best area, one where you are most likely to find several cheap Edmonton hotels, is the central area. This is both Edmonton's oldest area and the heart of the city. The vast majority of the city's attractions are located here and Churchill Square hosts many festivals throughout the year. The south Central area is another popular location and is home to Whyte Avenue, the city's most vibrant strip for dining out and clubbing. The West End is famous for its shops, whilst the south has many beautiful parks.

When To Visit Edmonton

Depending on what you are looking for, both the summer and winter are great times to visit this city. In the summer, there are plenty of festivals and open-air entertainments, although the winter is perfect for those who prefer the snow orientated winter sports. However, throughout the year there are always plenty of concerts and theatre shows to choose from.
