Fez Hotels

Fez is the oldest imperial city of Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Many choose to take Fez holidays for the incredible culture, colour and exotic atmosphere of this richly contrasting city. There's plenty to do and see - visit the Medina - cloaked behind tall walls and concealing a magical ancient medieval city with thousands of narrow streets and visit one of the famous leather tanneries. There are also three museums in the old part of town, displaying arts, wooden crafts and other creative pieces.

The new part of town was built by the French and has a very Westernised feel and the hotels in Fez reflect this. It's also well worth staying in a traditional Riad, which often have stunning architecture and spa treatments on site, as well as local food and drink. They are a cultural experience all of their own!

When to visit Fez

Book Fez flights between September to November, or between April and June when it's not too hot and tourists are fewer. The festival of World Sacred Music is worth organising a visit around and it's held in June. Avoid peak religious Muslim holidays and high Summer when the temperature gets very hot.
