Like so much of the great old buildings of Frankfurt, you'll have to put up with a modern reconstruction of the Alte Oper. It was largely destroyed during WWII and rebuilt in the '80s. It's still a very attractive building though and has quite a busy concert schedule.

Maingau is a great place to stay in Frankfurt. We had excellent service, a clean room, and a delicious breakfast the next morning. The rooms are decorated really cute and modern. It's located in a pretty good part of town, in the southern region.
