As one of the seven natural wonders of the world, the Grand Canyon is a true phenomenon which, once seen, can never be forgotten. Most of the five million annual visitors flock to the south rim but the north rim is also worth visiting and has the benefit of being far less crowded, although it is more difficult to reach. Whilst many visitors spend only a short time, an overnight stay in one of the many cheap Grand Canyon hotels will add a new dimension to your trip and give you the chance to see the sun rise over the canyon's distinctive red rocks.
There are many cheap Grand Canyon hotels to choose from and our simple search will help you find the one that suits you best in no time. You can easily arrange to be picked up from your hotel to enjoy the many adventurous activities the Canyon has on offer, from spectacular helicopter flights and jeep safaris to organised hikes and picnics.
The road to the north rim of the canyon is usually closed between November and Mid-May each year due to heavy snow. If you want to see both rims you will need to plan ahead. Although there is plenty of cheap Grand Canyon car hire on offer, the road between the two rims is 220 miles long. The other alternative is to hike across the middle of the canyon. This is only 21 miles but will require an additional night in a Grand Canyon hotel or campground in order to make the most of it.
