When to go to

Costa Blanca

Costa Blanca Weather

Costa Blanca benefits from a year-round comfortable and pleasant climate, with temperatures averaging around 19°C or 66°F. The Costa Blanca receives more than 300 days of sunshine per year, making it a great holiday destination for visiting during both peak and off peak times. Winter daytime temperatures rarely drop below 10°C, and there are many bright and sunny days. At the height of summer, temperatures reach 30°C or even 40°C on occasion. Remember the sunscreen!

Costa Blanca's Tourist Season

Summer is the busiest time of the year when temperatures are at their hottest. In August particularly the Costa Blanca is at its most crowded, as this is the traditional holiday month in Spain. Accommodation can be scarce in August, and you should book early to avoid problems with availability. If you want to avoid peak times, the weather is still good earlier and later on in the season, and there's an added bonus that flights and hotels are far cheaper too.

Events in Costa Blanca

There are plenty of events that happening throughout the year along the Costa Blanca. A couple worth noting are Bous al Mar (Bulls in the Sea), which is part of Denia's summer festival in the first fortnight of August. Bulls are chased throughout the streets by the bravest locals all the way to the sea. Carnavales (Carnival) is an excuse to party across the region. Águilas in particular really goes to town, as parades process riotously through the streets and parties erupt in every bar and square. Many other local festivals and events in Costa Blanca are tied into folklore or legend relating to ancient traditions or patron saints.
