East Midlands Airport (EMA) serves more than 90 destinations and is one of the major airports for the heart of England, with over 4.1 million passengers passing through in 2011.
The airport has one terminal over two floors. Check-in, security and part of Departures (including all shops, some restaurants/bars and all gates) are on the ground floor. You'll find the Executive Lounge, Chameleon Bar and Burger King on the first floor.

Reaching East Midlands Airport by car:
The airport is just off the M1 (junction 23a). You can easily reach the A42 to Birmingham, the A50 to Stoke and the A453 to Nottingham.
Reaching East Midlands Airport by train:
The airport doesn't have a rail station, but there are several major railway hubs nearby. If you?re travelling by train via Derby, Long Eaton or Nottingham rail stations, you can get on an airport bus (see below) with a combined ticket.
Reaching East Midlands Airport by bus or coach:
There is a range of local bus services, including the Skylink bus service from Nottingham Broadmarsh, Derby and Leicester St Margaret?s bus stations. National Express connects the airport with Sheffield, Leeds, Coventry, Heathrow and Gatwick.

There is a cycle path to the airport.
Shops at East Midlands Airport: there is the Aviation Gift Centre before security and a Spar in Arrivals. The majority of the shops are in Departures, including Accessorize, Biza Tax & Duty Free, Boots, Dixons Travel, WHSmith and more.
The airport offers a free Collect on Return service for passengers travelling within the EU.
Bars and restaurants at East Midlands Airport: you'll find AMT Coffee and Caffè Ritazza both before and after security. Also after security are Burger King, Lavazza Espression, The Runway Bar, Soho Coffee Co., The Bar and Three Shire Foodmarket. You'll also find a Greggs in Arrivals.
Taxis: Arrow Cars operate from the airport, with their office located opposite Arrivals.
Currency exchange: available through Travelex.
Internet: there are pay-as-you-go internet terminals and wi-fi in the terminal building. Internet access is free for the first 30 minutes.
Special Assistance: there are OCS Passenger Assistance areas near Gates 2 and 14.
Other services include a chaplaincy team and multi-faith prayer room, an information desk, Sceptre Leisure arcade games and the Aeropark, an attraction for aviation fans.
The Servisair Executive Lounge is open to all passengers, including children. Facilities include complimentary drinks, snacks, TV, newspapers and magazines and free wi-fi.
All car parking options are a short walk or a short shuttle bus journey from the terminal.
Rapid Drop Off is £1 for 10 minutes (and it's free in Shuttle Plus Car Park with free shuttle to the terminal).
Short Stay is a one or two minute walk from the terminal, while Express Parking and Long Stay 1,2 and 3 are less than 5 minutes' walk away.
The Shuttle Plus and Shuttle Economy car parks are served by a complimentary shuttle to and from the terminal, taking 6 to 8 minutes.
VIP Meet and Greet parking is also available, and there are Blue Badge spaces in Short Stay.
