Travel Around Your Destination

Car hire is available at all airports, and is a popular way of getting around Florida. If you are heading to Miami, Orlando, the Tampa area, Polk County or Volusia County you can also take advantage of the public transport systems. They all have bus networks, Miami has a metro system and Tampa operates a trolley network. There are various other small scale networks operating throughout the state and it may be worth checking what facilities your destination can offer. Travel Around Florida and Beyond

Roads in Florida are good, so most visitors to Florida choose to hire a car, especially when they're planning to tour the region's theme parks as the distances involved can be large! For travels further afield there are a few options if you don't want to hire a car. Domestic flights make for a quick and easy way to travel, particularly if you have a greater distance to cover. There are a few train services offering long distance and interstate travel. They depart from Orlando or Miami, but the coverage is limited. Greyhound buses operate throughout Florida and beyond and are a good option if you're travelling long distances on a budget.
