Fuerteventura
Hot SpotsNorth Fuerteventura
The north of Fuerteventura island is popular with surfers as the swell is most reliable here but the wind conditions often make it perfect for windsurfers too. The main resort of Corralejo has plenty to offer with the huge dunes, a lovely old town and the bustling marina as well as Baku Euro Park nearby. On an island of relaxed nightlife it is here that you can party the hardest. With charming small villages like El Cotillo as well as miles of gorgeous beaches to explore there's a lot to get out and about for.
Central Fuerteventura
The capital of the Fuerteventura, Puerto del Rosario, has been slow to grasp the tourist trade and remains a great place to get some local culture. The cultural centre puts on concerts and other events and walking round you will see traditional houses as well as quirky statues, the result of numerous competitions. Inland the villages are lost in time and the roads are little more than dirt tracks, but you will be rewarded with beautiful views.
South Fuerteventura
The Jandia peninsula dominates the southern tip of Fuerteventura and the beaches are huge. Once more windsurfing is popular here as the wind conditions are great. The main resort of Morro de Jable is increasing in size and the nightlife is starting to rival that of Corralejo. La Lajita Oasis Park is a great excursion nearby and in the villages of Tarrajalejo and Gran Tarrajal you can enjoy a quieter pace of life and more traditional evening entertainment of Latin and Spanish music.
