Gumbet
Population:
8000
Money:
The official currently is Turkish Lira (TL), although you will find that in many places Euros are also accepted and may even work out to be cheaper. The banks tend to have the best exchange rates but always check a few out to shop around for the best deal. There are plenty of ATMs which offer good exchange rates too.
Language:
Turkish, although in a dedicated resort like Gumbet it's easy to find speakers of English as well as German and Russian.
Dialling codes:
+90 for Turkey and the 252 for the Bodrum area
Entry:
UK nationals have to have six months validity on their passport upon entry, plus you will need to buy a 90-day visa at the beginning of the holiday in Gumbet. This costs £10 and it's best to pay in sterling as it costs extra to use Euros and Turkish Lira aren't accepted.
