Hurghada
Hot SpotsEl Dahar
The most northern part of Hurghada buzzes with authentic Egyptian life, particularly around the souks where you can find very reasonably-priced souvenirs. This part of town offers lots of local cuisine as well as the majority of cheaper hotels if you're looking for a budget holiday. For those wishing to improve their knowledge of the fish just off the shore the Marine Biology Museum is perfect.
Al-Sakkala
The centre of Hurghada offers plenty of things to do and is the centre of nightlife, including the famous Hed Kandi's Beach Bar by the Marina. This area has plenty of restaurants and nightclubs as well as more traditional cafes for a quieter night. The area closest to the beach is packed with hotels as this is a very desirable place to stay on holiday. During the day, the Red Sea Aquarium and the National Museum are very popular.
Resort Strip
Out to the south of Hurghada the resort hotels really take over, offering private beaches and luxury all-inclusive experiences. The area is under constant development so be sure to ask your hotel if there is any building work nearby to be sure of some peace and quiet.
