Lagos
Hot SpotsOld Town
The majority of the sights, night spots and hotels in Lagos all cluster in the Old Town opposite the Marina. Lagos has a vibrant and fun nightlife and with the accommodation all nearby it's easy to find your way home. The Church of Saint Antonio, the Fortress and the Regional Museum are all great to visit if you want to soak up the local culture as well as the beverages.
Ponte de Piedade
The area surrounding this small point is known for its small and stunning beach coves. Praia de Dona Ana is the most popular of these, but Praia do Camilo is also a great bet, especially if the other beaches are busy, as its stepped entrance puts off many a beach-goer. The best way to see the whole Ponte de Piedade area is by boat. Organised tours as well as private boat owners flock to the waters, so if you want to explore the numerous caves and rock formations in more detail then this is the best way to do it.
Meia Praia
Out to the west of Lagos is this huge beach, which is fast becoming an Algarve holiday destination in its own right. Meia Praia can easily be reached by bus which runs from the centre of the beach to the centre of town. Beach lovers are impressed by the white expansive sands and surfers flock from across Europe for the swells in the Algarve. The popularity of the beach means that there is an ever-increasing array of accommodation here too with nightlife up-and-coming too.
