Travel to Lagos

The nearest airport to Lagos is in Faro, about 60 miles away. The journey from Faro Airport to Lagos is best undertaken in a hire car. Various operators offer collection from the airport. Alternatively there is a direct shuttle bus to Lagos, or consider taking a taxi, especially if you're in a larger group.

On arrival in Lagos

The bus and train stations in Lagos are very central as are most of the hotels so it's likely you'll be able to walk to your accommodation if you arrive by public transport. Taxis are readily available if you prefer to be taken direct to your door.

Getting around Lagos

Lagos is a very compact place and pretty much everywhere is easily reachable by foot. Local buses can take you around if you like, and taxis are pretty easy to come by. If you want a boat tour then head to the Marina to be shown the sights in style.

Travelling further afield

Local buses and trains will take you to the nearby towns and villages and once you're on the train network you can travel across Portugal and into Spain with a couple of changes. Regional and long-distance buses are also available for travelling across the country. For those driving, it's worth noting that some roads have tolls, which can add up if you're after a cheap holiday, although there are always alternative routes.
