Summer time in Lagos is hot and sunny with average temperatures around 25°C, and the cooling breeze off the sea is often very welcome indeed. June, July and August are the hottest months in Lagos. The majority of the rainfall in confined to autumn and winter, though the winter weather is generally really mild with temperatures around 12°C.

Lagos' Tourist Season

The holiday season in Lagos unsurprisingly coincides with the height of the summer weather as families and groups of friends alike head for the beaches, attracted by the warm water or the surf. Outside school holidays the crowds die down a little, and to enjoy the best of the weather with minimal crowds head to Lagos in early June. If sunbathing isn't the main attraction for you then spring is a great time for a holiday in Lagos; you can make the most of the beautiful region with walks and boat tours free from crowds.
