The most convenient way to get to Larnaca is to fly into Larnaca International Airport, which is located just five kilometres from the city centre. You can also arrive by sea from a number of different ports around the Mediterranean and the city is connected to the rest of Cyprus, Italy and beyond by bus.

On arrival in Larnaca

Larnaca International Airport is easy to access from Larnaca city and from all the island's other towns by motorway. The airport is located just five kilometres from Larnaca itself, so a quick drive away if you're hiring a car at the airport. You can also just to grab a taxi to get into town; they shouldn't be too expensive and as public transport is limited in Larnaca, it's certainly the easiest way to get around. Most taxi drivers have a meter but many will refuse to use it, instead quoting you a price at the beginning.

Getting around Larnaca

The best way to get around Larnaca is either taxi, renting a car, or even a moped (if you're brave enough!). There is a regular bus service around Larnaca, but no train service. Driving in Cyprus is a challenge for drivers used to polite British traffic, so if you are renting a car drive with extreme care! The bus terminal in Larnaca is on Leoforos Athinon avenue from where you'll be able to travel to various different points throughout the city.

Travelling further afield
