Weather in Larnaca

Summers in Larnaca are long, cloudless and warm, with the sun beating down for over 12 hours a day. Summer temperatures in Larnaca range between 35°C and 40°C and there is very little or no rainfall during the hottest months. The heat is less intense during June and September, when the temperatures rest at an average of approximately 25°C - so visiting at this time may be suited to those who tend to wilt in the heat! Winters are mild with some rainfall.

Tourist Seasons in Larnaca

Peak season, like more or less any major town in Cyprus, falls between June and September. If you're looking for a party holiday then you're definitely best visiting during these months! Do bear in mind that the weather is extremely hot in July and August and can be overwhelming for those who aren't used to it! If you're visiting for a more relaxing kind of holiday in Cyprus, your best bet is to visit in spring. The island as a whole is covered in pretty flowers at this time, weather is still beautiful but far cooler, and there are considerably fewer crowds to deal with.

Saving Money on your Larnaca Holiday

If you plan to visit during the peak summer season, booking in advance is essential. If you arrive in August without a Larnaca hotel already booked, it may take more effort (and money!) than you can afford to find a comfortable room in a good location. During the rest of the year, from October to May, advance bookings are not necessarily essential, as the town is fairly quiet in the cooler months.
