Palma's Tourist Season
Unsurprisingly, given that the majority of tourists come to Majorca for its fantastic beaches, the peak season is between June and September. This is when resorts are at their most crowded and hotels can up their prices. You might want to consider going in May when temperatures are starting to pick up but holidays are cheaper and beaches emptier. Some tourists opt to go in October when the resorts are similarly uncrowded, but be warned that there is a risk of rain at this time of year.
Events in Palma
There are lots of events and festivities throughout the year in Palma. Among the most popular are the Cavalcade fiesta in March which includes lots of fancy dress balls and commemorates the start of lent and the Semanta Santa which marks the Easter weekend with a huge procession. Festa de Virgin in September is celebrated with festivities across Palma and plenty of cakes and singing. There are also a number of regattas staged in Palma, most significant among these is the Princess Sofia Trophy in April.
