Travel to Malaga

There are plenty of airlines that offer flights to Malaga so it's very easy to get there from most UK airports. As lots of budget airlines cover the route it's a great destination for cheap flights.

On arrival in Malaga

Malaga Airport is served by several bus routes that can take you to the town centre or beyond to other destinations. There's also a direct rail link to the central train station in Malaga and to the resorts of Torremolinos and Benalmádena on the Costa del Sol. A popular method when travelling as a group is to hire a private transfer to your accommodation, which costs about the same as a taxi but is prebooked so you'll know it's waiting for you. Taxi hire and car hire are also available.

Getting around Malaga

If you're not venturing far from the historic old town or the beach you'll probably be happiest walking, but if you want to travel a bit further Malaga has a good bus network, and the taxis are highly regulated so offer very reasonable fares. For travel to nearby villages or for exploring the surrounding countryside, hiring a car or a scooter is probably the best option.

Travelling further afield

Malaga is on the train network which means that high-speed rail travel across Spain to Madrid, Barcelona, Seville and beyond is really easy. There is also a coach network offering very reasonably priced intercity travel. If you're planning on touring some more out-of-the-way places though you'll probably find that organising car hire in Malaga is your best option, although beware the toll roads if you're trying to stick to a small budget!
