English is spoken throughout, but about half of the population speaks another language at home, with the most prevalent being Spanish and French Creole.

+1 for USA then followed by 305 for the Miami-Dade region with some numbers using 786, particularly outside the city and down to Florida Keys

Hurricanes

Hurricane season runs from mid-August to the end of September but emergencies are rare.

Entry:

UK travellers will need their valid passport to enter the USA and will need to fill in a visa waiver form (these are usually handed out on the flight over). You also need to apply for an ESTA, an electronic travel authorisation, at least 72 hours before travel. The ESTA costs $14, but lasts for 2 years.
